DISCOURSE OF HAZRAT AMIR’UL MOMENIN MUHYI-UD-DIN AL-KHALIFATULLAH MUNIR AHMAD AZIM: ON THE OCCASION OF THE LAUNCHING OF THE AL-AZIM: TAFSIR’UL QURAN WEBSITE
After having greeted everybody with the Salutations of Peace, Naya Saal Mubarak (1st January 2010) the Khalifatullah read the Tashahhud, Taouz and Surah Al Fatiha and then read the following verses from the Holy Quran: يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ قَدْ جَاءتْكُم مَّوْعِظَةٌ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ وَشِفَاء لِّمَا فِي الصُّدُورِ وَهُدًى وَرَحْمَةٌ لِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَ “Yaa ‘ayyuhan naasu qad jaaa at kum maw izatum mir Rabbikum wa shifaa ul lima fissuduuri wa Hudanwwa Rahmatul-lil-Aalameen”
“O mankind, there has come to you a warning from your Lord and a healing for the (diseases) in your hearts, and for those who believe, (it is) a guidance and a mercy”.
(Surah Yunus Ch.10, V.58)
Alhamdulillah Soumma Alhamdulillah, the awaited time which Allah told this humble one through revelations has finally come - Friday the1st January 2010. Exactly nine years ago, on the 1st January 2001, this humble one was expelled from the Nizam-i-Jamaat of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association on the basis of Divine Revelations. Just because Allah talked to this humble one, and continues to do so today, the responsible of the administration plotted against this humble one to have me out of the Jamaat.
But now, nine years later, Allah has decided that this year 2010, as He made the fourth Caliph of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association once see in a vision: Friday the 10 illuminating. Now, let me tell you clearly my dear brothers, sisters and children that Allah has indeed made him see this vision, as a sign for the Friday 1st January 2010. Indeed the moment has come, and the Jamaat and the whole world shall come to find the consequences of the evil-doers and the success of the friends of Allah found in the Jamaat Ul Sahih Al Islam. Nine years of boycott, persecutions, blames, accusations of all sorts fell upon this humble one, and will keep on falling like a sharp dagger but O my dear ones, no worries for us for we have already sold our bodies and souls in the path of Allah in order to have Allah Himself as our Ultimate Reward, be it in this world and the Hereafter.
Today, my dears disciples, the Abdaals of the pure Islam, Allah has chosen such a date for the launching of the Tafsir’ul Quran. Years have gone by, and step by step this humble one’s commentaries of the Holy Quran were made by the grace and help of Allah in such a way that it applied to the different periods, difficulties and joys we were facing.
Alhamdulillah, at exactly 00.01 (1st January 2010) the Tafsir’ul Quran is being launched as a foremost refutation to all the blames and accusations which Non-Muslims and Muslims alike have attributed to Allah, His prophets, and to the pure religion of Islam. Moreover, it is a refutation, an eye-opener for the so-called defenders of the Jamaat of the Promised Messiah Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as).
I have the pleasure to tell you my dear ones that the preparation of a large part of the commentaries of the various Suwar (plural of Surah) of the Holy Quran have already been made, but only a section of it: Explanations of some primary verses, the Surah Al-Fatiha and Al-Baqara (up till Section 7) have been launched today as a harbinger of the favours of Allah upon His Jamaat Ul Sahih Al Islam.
I wish now to expound before you the purpose of the Holy Quran as a guide in our everyday life.
The Holy Quran is the last law-bearing book for humanity at large. It directs man morally and spiritually, in all fields of life. It finds its place in all human situations. It deals with shaping man’s personality and character and all things connected with his behaviour in this world and how he can manage his life according to the laws of the Divine Scripture.
The Quran is the greatest favour which Allah (Exalted is He) has sent to mankind, and especially to the “Muttaqi” (the ones who guard themselves against evils and who are God-fearing). Through its guidance, man gets access to all the commands of Allah and how he should direct his life so as to reach Allah and peace of the soul. Allah (Exalted is He) sent many messengers and some of them left written records of Allah’s revelations. The first prophet to come was Hazrat Adam (as) who was followed by many other prophets. Some of them came with sacred books such as the Zaboor, Tawraat, and Injeel. With the arrival of our beloved Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (peace be upon him) in this world, Allah perfected His blessings on him and his Ummah and gave him the Universal Message, that is, the Holy Quran. The Quran englobes all the divine messages which was revealed to Allah’s past prophets. Like Hazrat Muhammad (peace be upon him), each and every prophet came with the same message, that is, “Laa-Ilaaha Illallah”.
The guidance of the Quran is not only for a specific time but for all times till the Last Day of Judgement. The Quran é Majeed deals with situations of every kind. It holds the perfect solutions to our problems. Even nowadays, all its commandments still have its real value and if man follows these instructions in the best of ways, all their problems would have been tackled and no blood would have been shed in vain. The Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (peace be upon him) had the special blessings of receiving the blessed verses of the Holy Quran on him. In fact, each and every verse which was revealed to him relates the story of his life as the Prophet of Allah and a model for mankind.
The Quran is from Allah to man and so it is very important and meaningful for us to follow the instructions of Allah which are described in the Quran. Being a Muslim, we have accepted the responsibility to spread this message to all people around us (in the capacity of a Dai-Illallah). But to what extent do we realise the work and responsibility that we carry on our shoulders?
The Quran says:
“Law ‘anzalnaa haazal Qur’aana ‘alaa jabalil lara ‘aytahuu khaashi ‘am mutasaddi ‘am min khash yatillaah. Wa tilkal ‘amsaalu nazribuhaa linnaasi la ‘allahum yatafak karuun”.
“Had We sent down this Quran on a mountain, you would certainly have seen it falling down, splitting asunder because of the fear of Allah, and We set forth these parables to men that they may reflect.”
(Surah Al Hashar Ch.59, V.22)
The Quran was revealed to mankind but only the Muttaki – the ones who fear Allah the most and who follow the instructions of the Quran as ordered by Allah – are those who are the true “Ulul al’baab”, intelligent persons whom Allah loves because they follow Allah and His Rassool (Messenger) and obey the instructions given to them. Therefore, man should purify his heart and always open himself to the greatness and unique nature of the Quran. He should always keep reading and analysing the Quran and he should keep in mind that the book which is before him is the most sacred and greatest book revealed to us through Hazrat Muhammad (peace be upon him). If he does that, little by little he will be able to uncover the deep meaning of the divine message.
Nabi Kareem Hazrat Muhammad (peace be upon him) was the truest person who had understood fully the Quran and he is the one to explain it in the best way so that man may understand the importance of remaining attached to this Special Book. During his 23 years of prophethood, he explained the Quran and put it into practice and every portion which he had explained on the Quran had been recorded in the Hadiths and Sunnah. Hazrat Muhammad (peace be upon him) represents the Living Quran on earth and for all times he will continue to be that perfect model for mankind.
The Quran is a Book which gives importance mostly to actions, rather than ideas. People have to reflect deeply on its meaning rather than arguing on its content. The Quran makes many demands on the person who believes in it. Belief and actions go together. Actions are the nature outcome of belief. Man’s peace of mind in Aakhirat depends on both. It is better for a Momin (Believer) that he learns one ayah (verse) of the Quran and practices it rather than learning thousands of ayats (verses) and not practicing any of it. Obedience to the Quran is the real key to understanding.
Before taking the Quran and reciting it, a believer (Momin) should purify his mind and heart and have a pure intention (Niyyat). He must from the bottom of his heart want to understand the Quran and put his every effort so as to achieve his aim of seeking guidance from it. The Quran refers to it and says: “He guides the one who turns to it” (Ch.42, V.14).
After that, the Momin should develop Taqwa (fear of Allah). He should fear Allah and worry about his future and his life in Aakhirah (the after-life). The Quran e Paak says: “He who fears Allah will heed it (that is, follow its instructions)”. At another place, the Quran says: “It is guidance for the God-fearing”. Thus the Quran offers guidance to those who have Taqwa and who are sure that one day they will have to account for their actions before Allah.
Then the Momin is required to believe in the unseen. Allah is Zaahir (Visible) and Baatin (Invisible). When the believer believes firmly in this, he will be able to get access to the deep meaning and the great manifestations of Allah (Exalted is He).
If the reader truly and sincerely wishes to benefit from the Quran, he or she must stop all wrong actions and return repentant (make Istigfaar) to Allah. He or she should purify both heart and mind in preparation for receiving message (from Allah).
One must remember that knowledge is a light from Allah (Exalted is He) and Allah does not give His light to a sinner.
“Bil Bayyi naati waz Zubur; wa anzalnaa ilaykaz Zikra li tubayyina linnaasi maa nuzzila ilayhim wa la-allahum yatafakkaruun”
“And we revealed to you the reminder (The Quran) so you may explain to mankind what was revealed to them in order that they might meditate and reflect upon”.
(Surah An-Nahl Ch.16, V.45)
So my brothers in Islam, let us all pay attention to the commands of Allah (Exalted is He) and read the Holy Quran everyday and try to understand it deeply and with Allah’s Fazl (grace) Insha-Allah, Allah shall guide us towards the deep river of His knowledge and accept our Istigfaar for our sins and mistakes and forgive us for always. May Allah (Exalted is He) grant us all long life so as to guide people towards His Perfect Quran. It is through the understanding of the Quran that man can reach Allah (Exalted is He). We have in our Nabi-Kareem Hazrat Muhammad Mustufa (peace be upon him) the best example to follow. Let us all become a small Muhammad (peace be upon him) and bring back the glory of the Quran to the top; its rightful place. Insha-Allah, Ameen, Soumma Allahoumma Ameen. Discourse in Creole
